Marathon Motivation
Breakthrough and Finish!

Marathon motivation is a key aspect of getting yourself through four months of training and to the finish line after 26.2 miles of pounding miles.

While everyone has their own way of pushing themselves, I found reading about other runners' marathon stories very motivating.

Sometimes hearing these personal accounts help me get over the mental hill that's in my way. I'm sure they would help you to stop everything and start running up that hill too!

Writing down running quotes from running magazines, books, movies, etc. also helped me. Taping them to my mirror, desk or writing them down in my exercise journal kept them top-of-mind.

Here's a quick trailer from a new marathon movie that will get you psyched!

Another big help was watching "Prefontaine" (the one with Jared Leto, 1997). I must have watched it 30 times throughout my training.

Running clubs help a lot too. Remember the old adage - strength in numbers? Well, it plays big time here!
