Best Running Shirts Wick it and Forget it!
The best running shirts fit comfortably, breathe when you need them to and wick away your sweat. Wicking is key to any great running shirt. Nobody wants to drag around all a bunch of unnecessary weight to the finish line. Wick it and forget it! Chafing is a huge problem too. If you wear a cotton shirt on a long run, you’ll understand. Let’s just say that the nips will not be happy. Here’s my custom running shirts list of three helpful styles I used to train and finish my first marathon. Basic Running Tee Shirt I’m not sure I can call the Under Armour HeatGear® Full T basic… as their description states, “HeatGear® moisture transport ensures fast drying performance that keeps you cool and won’t weight you down.” Sounds fairly high-tech to me! I got a couple of these for $20 each and alternated/wash between training days. This is my staple and I still train with these to this day.

Running Tank Top or Singlet I only recently started wearing tank tops for training. Very nice! It’s light, very breathable and very fast! They are always usually mad of a great soft/smooth material bringing the chafage-o-meter down a few notches. Most likely, you’ll get one of these in your pre-race marathon packet. Rookie tip – don’t wear the race-day shirt until after you’ve completed your race. It’s more of a trophy than anything.

Long Sleeve Running T-Shirt What is the most important advice I can give you for clothing? Layers, layers and layers. If it’s a brisk morning throw a long sleeve shirt over your short sleeve to help keep the warmth in. As the temperature rises, take it off and tie it around your waist.

Overall, the best running shirts will fit comfortably, breathe and wick the sweat away. Contact us if you have a recommendation for this list.
